Side Relaxation

This is an exercise that benefits you and your baby. It helps you learn how to relax in comfort, which you can use in early labor and beyond. Relaxing during contractions is the best way to have easier contractions in labor.

  1. Lay down on your side.
  2. Place one pillow between your legs and another pillow under your head.
  3. Bend both knees slightly and bring your top leg forward.
  4. Place both your arms in a comfortable position.
  5. Practice once alone, and once with your partner, if possible.
